Duty Medical Officer _ Emergency

An emergency room (ER) doctor's job description includes:

• Assessing patients: Prioritizing patients by the severity of their condition, and performing stabilizing care
• Creating treatment plans: Deciding what treatment is needed and where it should be provided
• Working with a team: Collaborating with other medical professionals, technicians, and staff
• Monitoring patients: Conducting follow-up visits to monitor a patient's condition
• Documenting treatment: Maintaining clinical records in line with regulations and standards
• Discharging patients: Clearing patients for discharge or further procedures with specialists
• Participating in research: Taking part in clinical studies and research efforts

Emergency room doctors need to be able to think and act quickly to make a tentative diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment. They should also have excellent communication skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to work well under pressure.
