Accommodation
The Port Authority/IPA (Indian Ports Association) will provide bachelors accommodation as applicable. Candidates may transfer/relocate based on project needs.
Project
The Port Enterprise Business System (EBS) is designed to integrate three core solution components: Port Operations Solution, Standard ERP solutions, and Auxiliary solutions. Port-EBS aims to seamlessly integrate with Port Community Systems (PCS) viz, the National Logistics Portal (Marine) and other systems, while also incorporating third-party applications such as those used by port customers (Vessel Agents, CHA, Importers/Exporters), partners (Stevedores, etc.), Railways (FOIS), and various government websites (DGS, e-GRASS, etc.). The ultimate objective is to create a comprehensive business solution that utilises best-of-breed applications, maintains port-specific instances, leverages a common central infrastructure, ensures data access integrity, upholds business rule autonomy and provides flexibility for the port.
Role Overview
Responsible for understanding user requirements, translating them into process flows, and implementing them in Port Operation Systems. Expertise in development, testing, and modern software practices required.
Qualification
- Full-time Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering/ IT/ Information Systems/ Computer Applications or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Certification in Maritime/Shipping/Import-Export domain (preferred).
Experience Required
- Extensive experience in the Indian Port business, including implementing Enterprise Business Solutions for major ports.
- Knowledge of digitising Shipping, Logistics, and Port/Terminal operations.
- Expertise in design patterns, data structures, algorithms, EDIs, and API-based integrations.
- 2-5 years of experience in Port Operation Systems at major ports.
- Product/project development and implementation in the shipping and logistics industry.
- Familiarity with Customs Import/Export Processes and National Logistics Portal (marine).
- Good understanding of Port Scale of Rates, Billing Procedures, and software life cycle stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications and guide implementation.
- Provide strategic advice to IPA/Ports for achieving objectives.
- Analyze and map current/future state processes.
- Liaise between technology teams and domain experts.
- Coordinate overall program efforts and report progress.
- Review and prepare integration and performance test plans.

- Implementing POS as part of Enterprise Business Solutions.

- Integration with Gate, PDA, Weighbridge, FOIS, AIS, PCS, and PLC systems.
