Wintel Engineer - VMware (5-7 yrs)

Experience : 5 to 7 Years

Location : Bangalore WFO ( No Hybrid, No Remote)

NP : Immediate to Dec joiners only.

Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain critical Microsoft Server environments such as Hyper V, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL, and other related technologies, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.

- Troubleshoot and deploy server infrastructures, understanding interdependencies between services to resolve issues and implement new systems effectively.

- Understand client requirements and design tailored solutions, including proposing new architectures, mitigating current setup issues, and executing seamless migrations with minimal downtime and no data loss.

- Lead and mentor a team of L1/L2 engineers, preparing them for L3-level responsibilities while fostering teamwork and collaboration.

- Ensure secure handling of sensitive information, maintaining strict confidentiality for root access credentials, passwords, and client-specific data.

- Create and maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, including disaster recovery procedures, system designs, and operational guidelines.

- Automate repetitive tasks using programming (e.g., shell scripting) or tools like Ansible and Puppet to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.

- Proactively manage incidents and escalations, conducting root cause analyses and leading cross-functional efforts to resolve critical issues.

- Oversee change management processes, including planning, implementation, and rollback procedures, while conducting risk and impact assessments.

- Ensure security and compliance, monitoring systems for patch updates, applying security changes, and maintaining accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB) entries.

Must Have Skills :

- VMware(ESXi, vCenter, vSAN)

- VMware availability technologies - Site Recovery Manager, vMSC

- MS Windows Server / Hyper-V

- Linux - RHEL, SLES, CentOS, etc.

- Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008/2012/2016 Administration : Install, Configure manage.

- Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure.

- Strong knowledge of Azure services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.

- Familiarity with Azure security and compliance features.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation.

- Experience with source control systems and CI/CD pipelines.

- Azure certifications, such as Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert, are a plus.

Good to Have : Good knowledge on Windows Operating System Architecture

Certifications :

- Ideal candidate will be trained & certified in Veeam, Commvault (or any Enterprise Backup application).

- Additional understanding of Commvault or other enterprise backup software preferred.

Qualification : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
