Grafana Migration Expert - Monitoring Tools (5-10 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

Job Description :

- Grafana Migration Expertise : Lead the migration from Sumo Logic to Grafana, including the migration of dashboards, alerts, and integrations. Ensure smooth transition of all monitoring and logging functionalities with minimal downtime and disruption.

- Dashboard Development : Build and optimize Grafana dashboards for monitoring various applications and infrastructure, ensuring they match or improve on existing Sumo Logic dashboards.

- Alerting Systems : Migrate and enhance alerting mechanisms, translating Sumo Logic alerts into Grafana alerts using Prometheus, Loki, or other compatible alerting systems.

- Loki Implementation : Deploy Grafana Loki at scale for log aggregation and querying. Ensure logs from various sources (applications, Kubernetes, etc.) are ingested and viewable in Grafana.

- DevOps Integration : Integrate Grafana with CI/CD tools like GitHub, GitLab, and monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace to ensure continuous delivery and performance monitoring at scale.

- Scalable Deployments : Ensure Grafana and Loki are deployed at scale using best practices for cloud-native environments, including monitoring and alerting for Kubernetes clusters.

- Optimization & Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot performance issues with Grafana dashboards, Loki queries, and alerting. Optimize dashboards for performance and usability, ensuring real-time visibility.

- Documentation & Training : Document migration processes, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques. Provide training and support to internal teams on how to use and maintain Grafana dashboards and alerting systems post-migration.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Sumo Logic to Grafana Migration : Proven experience migrating from Sumo Logic to Grafana, including rebuilding dashboards, alerts, and log aggregation.

- Grafana & Loki : Hands-on experience deploying and scaling Grafana and Loki in large-scale production environments. Strong understanding of Grafana dashboard creation and log query management.

DevOps Tools :

- CI/CD Integration : Experience with GitHub or GitLab for version control and continuous integration.

- Monitoring Tools : Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or similar.

- Kubernetes & Docker : Expertise with Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring Grafana, Loki, and other monitoring tools are effectively deployed and scaled in containerized environments.

- Linux Expertise : Solid understanding of Linux environments, including troubleshooting, system resource management, and performance monitoring.

- Alerting Systems : Experience building and configuring alerting systems in Grafana and integrating them with various incident management tools.

- Cloud & Scalability : Experience in deploying and scaling observability solutions (Grafana, Loki, etc.) in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
