Role Overview :
As a Network Administrator (L2 Support), you will serve as the second level of technical escalation for our customers, focusing on switching and routing portfolios. You will be responsible for ensuring service deliverables, providing expert technical guidance, and contributing to continuous network improvement. This role requires a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and troubleshooting techniques.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as the second level (L2) of technical escalation for customers regarding switching and routing products.
- Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution for complex network issues.
- Ensure adherence to service deliverables for Request, Incident, and Change Management, as committed to customers.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and effective support.
- Provide recommendations and inputs for network service improvement.
- Develop and maintain detailed network drawings, diagrams, and as-built documentation.
- Support network audits and provide inputs during service review meetings with third-party vendors.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance during testing, deployment, and operational phases for customers across the region.
- Offer mentorship and support to junior network administrators.
- Utilize proven troubleshooting expertise to resolve complex network issues.
- Perform Root cause analysis.
Required Skills and Experience :
- 8+ years of experience as a Network Administrator, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers and Layer 2/Layer 3 switches.
- Experience in designing and implementing data center networks.
- Experience in designing and implementing large WAN networks involving MPLS, EGP (BGP), and IGP (OSPF, EIGRP) protocols.
- Thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking.
- In-depth knowledge of switching technologies (STP, RSTP, MSTP, PVST, VSTP).
- Strong understanding of IP and related protocols (ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP).
- Proficiency in IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP), NAT, and PAT.
- Experience with multicast-related protocols (IGMP, IGMP-snooping, PIM).
- Knowledge of service provider technologies (MPLS, MP-BGP, L2/L3 VPNs).
- Basic knowledge of managing SDN and wireless devices.
- Experience with Splunk and Service Now.
- Experience with Cisco IOS.
- Experience with Juniper Mist is a plus.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Master's degree in Engineering (M.E/M.Tech), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), or Master of Science (M.Sc).
