Job Description for Manager (Billing and Revenue Assurance) in Yabx
Yabx s vision is to enable enterprises build, operate and scale Digital Financial products in markets / segments with acute credit gap. We work with Wallets, Mobile Operators, Ecommerce companies, FIs and Banks to enable them in their journey to offer Digital financial products such as lending and savings.
We are seeking an experienced Manager of Billing and Revenue Assurance to lead our billing operations and ensure precise revenue recognition. This role involves managing billing processes, implementing revenue assurance controls, overseeing system enhancements, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance or accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and experience with billing systems, taxation, and stakeholder management.
Currently we are working in 14+ countries globally with access to 250M+ customers for credit profiling using alternate data and digitally enhanced methods of underwriting and managing financial products.
Functional Skills:
- Contract Review and billing template:
- Review and understand signed commercial terms in contracts to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Create billing templates based on contract terms and get them ratified by relevant stakeholders.
- Billing Closure with Customers:
- Verify reconciled data and fill out billing templates accurately.
- Share final billing numbers with banks and telecommunications partners, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Obtain approvals on the final numbers and facilitate the payment process.
- Taxation Knowledge:
- Knowledge of taxation, including VAT, Excise, and Withholding Tax (WHT), to ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and laws.
- Vendor/Customer Contract Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with contract terms for both vendors and customers.
- Address any non-compliance issues and ensure adherence to agreed-upon terms.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Reconcile accounts to maintain accuracy in financial reporting and manage outstanding balances efficiently.
- Revenue Assurance
- Implement and maintain revenue assurance controls to identify and rectify revenue leakage and discrepancies.
- System Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of billing systems, ensuring they are efficient and aligned with business needs.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare and analyze revenue reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Audits
- For bank(s) internal & external audits- accountable for data generated from the Yabx systems e.g. detailed transaction reports, billing template, summaries, and others as requested by banks.
- Keep a track and follow up on prior audit recommendations.
An Ideal Candidate Should Have:
- Experience working as a manager Finance (Billing, Revenue Assurance, vendor management and Reconciliations)
- Ensure accurate reporting of financial information for management decision making through the review and analysis of financial data.
- Advanced knowledge on MS Excel and Data Analytics (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Experience in working on Lending platforms (good to have)
- Demonstrated ability to use data to drive critical results.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to go above and beyond: For start-ups the responsibilities and needs of the business change quickly. Were looking for someone who is not afraid to take on calculated risks and can deal with ambiguity.
