Commercial Manager

Experience Required: 8-15 years in the FMCG, Personal Care, or Cosmetics Manufacturing Industry is preferred but we are open to reviewing profiles from all the trades.

Qualification: MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Finance, or relevant field preferred or relevant experience is required

We are looking for a Commercial Manager to oversee the commercial operations, procurement, vendor management, and cost optimization strategies, ensuring seamless coordination between supply chain, finance, and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commercial & Procurement Strategy:

• Develop and implement effective commercial strategies to optimize costs while ensuring highquality procurement of raw materials and packaging.
• Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to drive profitability.
• Monitor market trends, supply chain disruptions, and competitor pricing to maintain a costefficient procurement process.

2. Vendor & Supplier Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers & vendors for raw materials, packaging materials, and outsourced manufacturing.
• Ensure timely procurement and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and ethical sourcing policies.

3. Cost Control & Budgeting:

• Drive cost optimization initiatives across procurement, supply chain, and logistics.
• Develop and maintain budgets, ensuring commercial operations align with the company's financial objectives.
• Implement strategies for inventory cost control, minimizing excess stock and wastage while ensuring production continuity.

4. Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure all commercial operations comply with statutory regulations, tax laws, and legal guidelines (GST, Customs, Excise, etc.).
• Mitigate financial and contractual risks by ensuring adherence to commercial agreements, SLAs, and payment terms.
• Collaborate with legal and finance teams to resolve contractual disputes and commercial claims.

5. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination:

• Work closely with the supply chain & warehouse teams to optimize procurement planning, delivery schedules, and logistics efficiency.
• Oversee import/export operations, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations.
• Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and implement corrective measures for on-time availability of materials.

6. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Lead and mentor a team of procurement and commercial executives, fostering a highperformance culture.
• Collaborate with Production, Finance, R&D, and Sales teams to align commercial strategies with business goals.
• Ensure seamless coordination with the Plant & Warehouse teams to prevent disruptions in production.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong negotiation & contract management skills.
• Expertise in FMCG Procurement, Costing & Supply Chain.
• Knowledge of GST, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to analyze market trends, pricing strategies, and supplier dynamics.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) & Excel.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced & result-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience:

• 8-15 years of experience in the FMCG, Personal Care, or Cosmetics manufacturing industry.
• Prior experience in raw material & packaging procurement, vendor management, and cost control.
• Hands-on experience in import/export regulations, logistics coordination, and tax compliance.
