Position Overview:

CoinCrowd is seeking a Legal Counsel Leader to play a pivotal role in navigating legal disputes, regulatory developments, and compliance initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to provide strategic legal counsel across the organization while specializing in litigation and regulatory matters. As a key advisor, you will collaborate with leadership, product, and engineering teams to address evolving legal challenges in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.

This is a fully remote position with the potential to influence high-impact legal decisions in a rapidly growing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

- Litigation & Dispute Resolution: Manage a portfolio of arbitration and dispute matters in collaboration with external counsel, including case assessment, e-discovery, pleadings, witness preparation, and trial strategy.

- Regulatory & Compliance Advisory: Anticipate and address legal, business, and regulatory challenges, recommending strategic solutions to mitigate risks while capitalizing on emerging opportunities.

- Strategic Legal Counsel: Provide risk-based legal and regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams, including product, business, and engineering departments.

- Thought Leadership: Offer expert legal perspectives on emerging Web3 and blockchain issues, providing strategic guidance to the executive team.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure CoinCrowd's products and services comply with relevant U.S. and international laws and regulations.

- External Counsel Management: Supervise and coordinate efficiently with outside counsel on high-profile and complex legal matters.

Required Qualifications:

- Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of GDPR, AML, HIPAA, and other relevant laws governing blockchain and financial services.

- Blockchain & Crypto Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of DeFi concepts, crypto wallets, blockchain technology, and related regulatory frameworks.

- Communication & Advisory Skills: Ability to present complex legal and financial concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Adaptability: Capability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with rapidly evolving regulations and market conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Extensive experience in corporate governance and intellectual property law related to blockchain and crypto businesses, with a focus on the U.S., UAE, and Indian markets.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law or a related field.

- 10+ years of cumulative experience, including roles in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory advocacy, preferably within a tech startup or fintech sector.
