Lan Engineer

Role Description

Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). Collaborating with clients to understand their networking needs and providing top-tier solutions that ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to assess their network requirements and develop customized LAN and WAN designs.
• Configure and deploy networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Monitor network performance on an ongoing basis and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Administer network configurations, including user access controls, routing, and VLANs.
• Proactively monitor network performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Conduct routine maintenance and updates to ensure network stability and security.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
• Provide technical support to clients and internal teams, diagnosing and resolving network-related problems.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and maintain accurate network documentation.
• Continuously optimize network configurations for improved speed, reliability, and efficiency.
• Identify and recommend upgrades or enhancements to meet evolving business requirements. Attributes
• Experience in LAN and WAN network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience on Cisco Meraki will be an added advantage.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience.
• 8 to 10 years experience supporting a real-time 24x7 production environment.
• Relevant industry certifications Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
