Senior Analyst, Transaction Advisory

Background

Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is a global research and advisory organisation in climate action with specific focus on tracking and enabling financial flows into climate-positive sectors. Headquartered in San Francisco, CPI works in places that provide the most promising potential for climate action, including Brazil, Europe, India, Indonesia, Kenya and the United States.

CPI works in various domains of climate including energy transition, industrial decarbonisation, agriculture, forestry and other land use (AFOLU), adaptation and resilience and green finance.

As part of its expanding advisory work across domains, CPI will increasingly be engaged in procurement of services from external subconsultants. The process will typically involve formulating terms of reference, a call for application through requests for proposal (RFPs), bid process management, evaluation of applicants and award of contracts.

Position Summary

The Senior Analyst, reporting directly to the Senior Program Manager, will be engaged in designing RFPs and other bidding related documents, managing the bid process till execution of contracts and managing deliverables and milestone payments till the end of the contract. This position combines an experience in transaction advisory with a nuanced understanding of various procurement services, with each having different requirements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Bid Evaluation

• Understanding the procurement requirements for various services and designing terms of reference/ scope of work for them.
• Creating RFP and other necessary documents incorporating appropriate evaluation criteria, submission formats, etc.
• Processing and evaluating bids as per pre-approved processes, and finalising contract awardees.
• Coordinating with the Operations team through the execution of contracts, monitoring deliverables and milestone payments.

Bid Submission/ Funder Application Submission

• Understanding terms of reference/ scope of work of RFPs and leading preparation of submission documents.
• Coordinating with procurers for pre-bid meetings, raise appropriate queries in a timely manner.
• Creating and updating repository of organisation credentials and resumes by liaising with CPI offices.
• Assist in preparing funder applications including internal and external project budgets.
• Coordinating with the Operations team through the execution of contracts, monitoring deliverables and milestone payments.

Qualifications & Experience

The candidate should have a commitment to CPI s mission and values and an active interest in addressing climate change related policy and finance issues. Besides, s/he should have the following credentials.

• A Post-Graduate in Management or similar field from a reputed institute.
• Understanding of finance and financial modelling skills are desirable.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in transaction advisory in government/ public private partnership (PPP)/ private sector/ financial sector.

• Willingness to travel domestically and, on a need basis, internationally.

Location and compensation

CPI is hiring for at least one permanent/fixed term, full-time Senior Analyst position based in Delhi/NCR.

CPI offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Compensation will be dependent on experience.
