Job Summary :

We are seeking a talented Looker Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of LookML data models, dashboards, and workflows. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Looker, SQL, and data modeling, along with the ability to understand and work with existing OBIEE reports. This role requires proficiency in data visualization, performance optimization, and Looker best practices to deliver actionable business insights.

Roles and Responsibilities :

LookML Development & Data Modeling :

- Design, develop, and maintain LookML data models with advanced proficiency.

- Implement persistent derived tables (PDTs), caching policies, version control, and enforce Looker best practices.

- Assess and optimize LookML code quality for scalability and performance.

Dashboard & Workflow Development :

- Create and manage Looker dashboards, reports, and workflows to deliver actionable business insights.

- Ensure data consistency and accuracy across dashboards.

- Utilize Looker's SQL Runner for data validation and debugging.

SQL & Database Management :

- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation and analytics.

- Ensure efficient data model designs that maintain performance and integrity.

Integration & Migration Support :

- Understand and migrate/translate existing OBIEE reports into Looker dashboards.

- Work with ETL teams and data engineers to ensure smooth integration of Looker with the data warehouse.

Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting :

- Optimize queries, dashboards, and reports for better performance and scalability.

- Monitor data quality issues, investigate anomalies, and troubleshoot Looker-related issues.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and engineers to understand reporting requirements.

- Document LookML models, SQL queries, and data pipelines for future reference.

Mandatory Technical Skills & Qualifications :

3-5 years of hands-on experience in Looker development.

Proficiency in LookML - designing Looker data models, views, and explores.

Strong SQL skills - writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and handling large datasets.

Experience with Looker dashboards, workflows, and reports.

Knowledge of persistent derived tables (PDTs), caching strategies, version control, and Looker best practices.

Experience in understanding and migrating OBIEE reports into Looker.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud-based databases (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.).

Ability to troubleshoot and debug Looker models and SQL queries.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :

- Experience with ETL pipelines and data engineering processes.

- Knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE.

- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.

- Familiarity with Python or scripting languages for automation.
