Job Title: Senior Graphic Designer Packaging & Branding

Job Location: Mumbai

Job Overview:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Graphic Designer to join Chheda’s. The selected candidate will be responsible for the visual aspects of our product packaging, mock-ups, and overall brand identity. They will also collaborate with external branding agencies to develop creative concepts and ensure brand consistency across all product lines. This role requires a deep understanding of packaging design, print processes, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Packaging Design and Development:

• Packaging Concept: Develop creative and functional packaging concepts that align with brand identity and appeal to target customers.
• Master Surface Graphics: Create master surface graphics for primary and secondary packaging, ensuring design consistency across the product range.
• Custom Hand Illustrations / Iconography: Develop custom illustrations and icons for gifting SKUs to enhance product packaging and ensure a unique visual identity.
• Packaging Copywriting: Collaborate with copywriters to develop packaging content that reflects the brand’s tone of voice and message.
• Artwork Files for Each SKU: Design and prepare final artwork files for each SKU (primary and secondary packaging) based on key line drawings provided.

2. Brand Identity and Coordination:

• Maintain Brand Book: Manage the company’s brand book, ensuring consistent use of logos, typography, and brand colors across all materials.
• Coordinate with Branding Agency: Work closely with external branding agencies to develop packaging concepts, visual identities, and marketing materials that align with the brand's strategic goals.
• Master Information Architecture: Create and manage an organized system of packaging elements and information to ensure clarity and uniformity across the product range.
• Product Range Nomenclature: Define and implement consistent product range naming conventions that align with the brand’s strategy and market positioning.

3. Print Process and Technical Recommendations:

• Print Process Recommendations: Provide recommendations on print processes, materials, and finishes to ensure the best quality packaging designs.
• Prepare Packaging Mock-ups: Create detailed mock-ups for packaging designs to visualize concepts and present to internal teams or clients.
• Ensure Production-Ready Artwork: Ensure that all artwork files are production-ready, adhering to the technical specifications of printing and packaging vendors.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to bring design concepts to life and support product launches.
• Client and Vendor Liaison: Communicate design requirements and ideas effectively with external vendors, agencies, and partners.

Skills Requirement:

• Graphic Design Expertise: Proficient in CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Conceptual Skills: Strong ability to conceptualize and develop creative ideas into visual formats.
• Packaging Design Knowledge: Experience with packaging design, including knowledge of print processes and technical specifications.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design, typography, and layout.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
• Portfolio: A comprehensive portfolio showcasing packaging design, branding, mock-ups, and custom illustrations.

Must Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Familiarity with packaging regulations, materials, and sustainable design practices.
