Lead - Airside Operations

Essential: A Postgraduate in any discipline preferably from an institute/ University recognized by UGC/AICTE.

Essential: A total 20 plus Years of experience in Airside Safety operations/Apron Management at an Airport.

Technical / Functional Skills Required:

• A thorough understanding of Aircraft rules 1934 and Aircraft rules 1937
• Car Series B, Part I Aerodrome designs and operations and Part III Heliports
• ICAO Annex 11, Annex 14, Annex 15
• ICAO circular 305, Operation of New Larger Aero planes at existing aerodromes Knowledge on OHS (Occupational Health & Safety).
• Knowledge of Human Factors in Aviation, wildlife hazard management.

• Compliance to the Safety Management System.
• Inspection and control over airside operations.
• Implementation of an action on operational procedures and policy decisions issued by MIAL Management.
• Apron Discipline, FOD control, control of oil/fuel Spillage, aircraft incidents & accidents reporting.
• Airside operational aspects of VVIP/VIP movements.
• Removal of Disabled Aircraft, Handling all emergency and contingency aircraft situations.
• Ensure the design and layout of the apron and maneuvering area remains adequate for the safety of intended operations, bearing in mind the need to review when there is a change in the operation
• Ensure that the paved areas, runway strips, clear and graded areas and RESAs continue to meet licensing of the aerodromes.
• Ensure aerodrome is clear of obstructions, debris and spoil and spillages.
• Following Working Instructions of operational procedures and policy decisions issued by MIAL.
• Wildlife hazard Managements to reduce bird strikes and prevent any wildlife strikes.
• Maintaining Apron Discipline in all aspects.
• Cleanliness of movement area,
• Any other directive approved by MIAL.
• Ensure that there is the necessary level of coordination and cooperation between all stakeholders that operate on the apron area, with one organization having responsibility for overall coordination, and that all stakeholders are aware of their own safety regulations and obligations, particularly where one function is a sub-contract of another, or airport equipment operated by other stakeholders.
• FOD/waste management.
• Ensure that licensee and stakeholder processes and procedures are implemented for the timely reporting to the appropriate aircraft operator, as well as the licensee, of any vehicle or ground equipment accident, incident or occurrence involving an aircraft
