B. Sc /B. E. / B. Tech in Mechanical / Chemical
Have Diploma in Safety / Safety Engineering from State Council or from reputed Institute.
Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in the EHS field.
1. Implement QSHE policies and procedures in Port area
2. Implement proactive OHS strategy for Port area.
3. Advise and assist the allocated line managers and other persons in planning, organising, controlling and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for work.
4. Identify and report the hazards in the respective area and focus on high/medium risk areas.
5. Provide a strong & focused support ensuring that OHS related risks are understood, assessed & reduced.
6. Investigate hazardous events/accidents/dangerous occurrences to identify the causes and implement control measures to prevent recurrence.
7. Provide QHSE MIS to Management and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences.
8. Conducting safety audit of the SOP and its on-site compliance.
9. Design a HSEF training schedule that includes on-going training, such as beginner, intermediate, and advanced as well as refresher training for equipment operators, drivers, lashers, checkers and surveyors.
10. Ensure the Statutory requirements, internal HSE standards and management audit requirement adherence.
11. Ensure OHS requirements for the contracts / projects / MOC are reviewed with respective stakeholder.
12. Participate OHS meetings, improve effectiveness and suggest improvements.
13. OHS MIS, documentation & maintaining records.
14. Co-ordinate and Update area HOS/HODs for solving safety issues.
15. Ensure Mock Drills actionable points are compiled within the timeline.
16. Monitor incident management and emergency response plans.
17. Ensuring timely compliance of all relevant statutory and other requirements.
18. Compliance to requirement of IMS (Integrated Management System)/ Standards (combination of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018).
19. Function as a team member for effective planning, implementing, and coordinating efforts of emergency response team.
20. Implementation and management of 5S (Workplace management system).
21. Drive HSE engagement / promotional activities in Port area, spread awareness through various campaign i. e. National safety day celebration, World Environment Day, near miss, machine guarding, PPEs, work at height etc.
22. Regular maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment, such as extinguishers, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems. This ensures that all equipment is in optimal working condition in case of an emergency.
23. Staying up to date with fire safety regulations and codes, and ensuring the organisation complies with all relevant standards. Regular audits and inspections are conducted to uphold a high standard of fire safety.
24. Coordinating and ensure all aspects of environment management, pollution control, waste management and conservation. - Developing and implementing environmental strategies and action plans that ensure corporate sustainable development.
25. Ensure and Maintain Occupational health centre (OHC) and relevant emergency services.
