Job Description
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree in relevant field (preferred)
- 7 to 9 years of experience in the copper industry
- Prior experience in smelting operations is essential
- Demonstrated track record of successful leadership and team management
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the smelting process to ensure the production of high-quality copper
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize smelting processes, improve efficiency, and reduce waste
- Supervise and lead a team of smelting technicians and operators, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to safety protocols and production targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot any technical issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor and analyze production data, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and environmental requirements related to smelting operations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain a safe working environment and uphold best practices in smelting operations
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for smelting personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Contribute to the development of annual budgets and cost control measures for the smelting department
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in smelting processes
