Job Title: DGM Sales & Marketing
Function: Sales & Marketing


Role Purpose: Lead and Manage the Sales & Marketing of CCMT including the subscription of magazines through various direct and online channels.


Reporting To: COO Location: Head Office


Education: Post Graduate with MBA/Diploma in Marketing & Sales


Experience (in years): Minimum of 8-10 years in Sales and Marketing strong with an understanding of the book publishing process and related administrative tasks for religious books and magazines. Knowledgeable in the CMs publications and learnings
Experience of digital/online sales would be beneficial

Role Description and Responsibilities:

Sales management

  • Responsible for developing and implementing Books and Magazine sales, marketing, strategies physical and digital media stores across the country
  • Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volume and forecasting and developing sales budgets for zones based on reports of their past sales, expenses and expected sales.
  • Keep in touch with latest market trends, supply and demand and competitors to maintain sales volume and product mix.

Networking

  • Interact with Magazine Editors and Book authors to share feedback and views collected from various channels, customers and centers.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers including centers, shops, channels, online to maximize their value in terms of number of books, magazines units ordered (physical and online), and cash value of orders placed as agreed in sales budget and forecasts.
  • Visiting centers, book shops, channel partners to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of relationship with them.
  • Visiting schools, libraries, corporates, online sales channel partners to network and increase the sales penetration.
  • Communicating about books, new editions, reprints, sales goals and expectations and gathering research about their target market.
  • Arrange for promotion of sales for new book editions, reprints, magazines
  • Document customer interactions and maintain data related to activities, accounts and partners.
  • Tie-up with centers for putting up of stalls on event days for promoting books and magazines sales and subscription.
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with reference to the Deal Forms process as appropriate
  • Work with the Marketing team to generate more leads and to set-up meetings with target Organization including Schools/Colleges (especially for magazines subscriptions), Centres, book shops, e-channels
  • Maximize revenue and inventory opportunities through proactive selling of physical and digital books and development of long-term partnerships
  • Responsible for safety, care, protection of books, magazines sent for sales

Training

  • Create awareness and train the team on various books and publications of Chinmaya Mission

Magazine Subscription

  • Coordination with CM centers National and overseas for magazine subscription, orders and payment follow up.
  • Sending reminders for renewal of subscription and follow-up

Sales Spends and Relationship Management

  • Monitor all editorial, marketing and sales spend on titles in line with acquisition/budget.
  • Liaise with the Centre team to ensure they have all material, information and understanding relating to the new and existing titles.
  • Develop, maintain and grow relationships with centers, channels, religious book publishers and shops
  • Oversee reprints, special sales and new editions, including costing sign-off; briefing of design on any updates and liaison with authors on revisions;

Marketing, Promotion Planning and Management

  • Developing marketing, promotion strategies for new, reprint editions books and magazines and ensure they align with the CCMT mission.
  • Planning and overseeing events during festivals, new book launches
  • Reviewing current marketing campaigns for weakness and developing solutions within budget constraints.
  • Analyzing own, channel partners website, e-shops to see the effectiveness of promotions & to determine what drives sales

Digital/ Social Media Marketing

  • Brainstorming fresh promotional ideas with COO to expand the market.
  • Oversee the departments marketing budget and refine campaign strategies for better results

Managing Channel Partners

  • Identifying and developing new sales channel partners like e-shops, e-commerce portals (Amazon, Flipkart) as well as physical bookshops, libraries with wide sales and distribution networks.
  • Networking and meeting the existing partners regularly for service feedback and relationship management
