Key skills for the job
Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities
Design, implement, and evaluate current and future infrastructure initiatives for the highest level of efficiency and performance
Work closely with various IT groups including but not limited to project management, database administration, network and security teams, application team and assist in overall architectural design, implementation and troubleshooting
Analyzes, acquires, installs, modifies and supports Linux operating systems, utilities and Internet/intranet-related tools
Configuration management and automation (e.g. Ansible or Python)
Perform problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and resolution
Perform Linux OS installations, patching and upgrades
Maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software
Design and document SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for system administration activities
Install and maintain Server OS, configuration, and patching levels using tools automated installation like Red Hat Satellite.
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding with area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Ability to work night shifts (IST) as required.
Required Experience, Skills, & Technologies
8+ years experience in a level 2/3 enterprise server systems support role and/or Linux based administrator position.
Expert level in on premise and cloud providers systems administration
Expert level working with Linux Server in a virtualized environment
Expert level in integrating various Linux distributions (particularly Red Hat Enterprise and Ubuntu) in heterogeneous environments.
Expert level applying Red Hat Satellite to management of all manner of Linux distributions.
Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery environments.
Experience with deployment automation tools (Ansible).
Experience with virtualized environments (VMWare).
Experience with storage technologies (RAID, CIFS/SMB, NFS, NAS and SAN).
Experience with change and incident management processes
Self-motivated to seek out and resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Networks with other senior personnel in own area of expertise
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments
On-call after hours support will be required as part of a team rotation
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field required
RHCSA and/or RHCSE are preferred
Experience with compliance frameworks such as CIS, NIST, HIPPA, ISO, etc. are a plus.
Good To Have Skills:
Experience with virtual container applications (Docker).
Preferred experience with DevOps and SRE methodologies.
Good to have Cloud Knowledge in AWS and Azure or GCP.
