Role - Telecom Engineer

Responsibilities

The Telecom Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various telephone systems, including analogue, digital, IP phones, and IPPBX systems. Should have a deep understanding of telephone connectivity, digital telephone configuration, and IP-based communication systems.

• Analog Telephone Systems: Design, install, and maintain analogue telephone systems, ensuring reliable connectivity and performance.
• Digital Telephone Configuration: Configure and troubleshoot digital telephone systems to meet organizational needs and standards.
• IP Phones: Implement and support IP phone systems, including setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• IPPBX Systems: Install, configure, and manage IPPBX systems, ensuring integration with existing network infrastructure and optimizing performance.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to analogue, digital, and IP telephone systems, including connectivity and system malfunctions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT and network teams to ensure seamless integration of telephone systems with broader organizational infrastructure.
• User Support: Provide technical support and training to end-users on telephone systems and features.
• Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and security.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in configuring and maintaining analogue and digital telephone systems.
• Experience with IP phone setup and IPPBX systems.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and IP-based communications.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and system issues effectively.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Asterisk) are a plus.

Qualifications:

• Education: Degree/ Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in telecom engineering, with a focus on analogue, digital, and IP telephone systems
