Job Role Title: Sr Contracts Engineer

Job Accountabilities
As a Sr Contracts Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing critical procurement and contracting activities. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts and procurement operations.
Key accountabilities include:
Sourcing of Critical Contracts:
- Assist the Category and Contracts Manager with critical sourcing activities.
- Develop demand profiles for upcoming procurement needs.
- Specify and monitor sourcing events, technical evaluations, and pricing.
- Support Contract Engineers in preparing for supplier negotiations and selection.
- Ensure the accurate generation and review of Purchase Orders (POs).
Procurement Strategy Development:
- Understand the requirements for critical services and provide inputs for strategy formulation.
- Align procurement timelines with spend planning.
- Shortlist supplier options and assist in preparing a comprehensive contracts plan.
- Order Execution and Expediting Coordination:
- Process purchase requisitions and manage expiring contracts.
- Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ) to shortlisted vendors.
- Evaluate vendor offers and prepare comparative statements.
- Develop internal cost estimates and participate in negotiation meetings.
- Finalize pricing, establish agreements, and release POs.
- Ensure coordination with inbound logistics and other commercial departments.
Post-Award Contract Management:
- Implement a supplier feedback mechanism to drive improvement.
- Review contractor performance and gather feedback from execution teams.
Change Order Management:
- Participate in planning meetings and coordinate supplier confirmations for changes.
- Monitor emergency procurement situations and ensure timely responses.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Maintain positive vendor relationships to ensure alignment with organizational needs.
- Collect and review feedback to suggest improvements to the Contract Manager.
- Ensure ethical procurement practices in line with corporate values.
Technological Efficiency:
- Leverage SAP systems and other technological tools to enhance efficiency.
- Utilize e-auctions and reverse auctions for cost optimization and transparency.
Guidance and Support:
- Provide mentorship to Contract Engineers for managing critical contracts.
Education Requirements:
Necessary: B.E / B.Tech
Desired: MBA or similar professional qualification
Experience Requirements:
Necessary: 5-18 years of experience in the relevant field.
Desired Experience:
- Exposure to construction, operations, or maintenance in manufacturing or exploration sites is highly preferred.
