Enterprise System & Virtualization Consultant (10-15 yrs)

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise System and Virtualization Consultant with deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and enterprise virtualization technologies, with experience in Kubernetes management platforms such as Rancher or Red Hat OpenShift.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, deploying, and managing Virtualization and containerized environments, automation, and hybrid cloud infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.

Additional knowledge of hardware (compute and storage) is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities :

Containerization & Kubernetes :

- Design, deploy, and manage containerized workloads using Rancher and Red Hat OpenShift.

- Optimize Kubernetes clusters for scalability, security, and high availability.

- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated container deployments and DevOps workflows.

- Configure RBAC, network policies, and security controls for containerized applications.

- Monitor and troubleshoot container networking, storage, and workload performance.

Virtualization & Cloud Infrastructure :

- Deploy and manage VMware vSphere/vCenter or RedHat for enterprise workloads.

- Configure resource pools, high availability (HA), DRS, and storage policies.

- Integrate VMware and Rancher environments with Kubernetes, cloud, and automation tools.

- Perform migration of legacy VMs to container-based or cloud-native architectures.

Compute Infrastructure :

- Deploy and manage Blade and rack Servers for enterprise workloads. (ex : Cisco UCS).

- Optimize Fabric Interconnects and integrate UCS with storage, networking, and automation tools.

- Perform capacity planning, firmware upgrades, and performance tuning.

Enterprise Linux & Automation (Red Hat) :

- Deploy, manage, and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) across on-premises and cloud environments.

- Implement automation and configuration management using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.

- Harden Linux security using SELinux, firewalld, and system auditing tools.

- Troubleshoot kernel, networking, and performance-related issues in Linux environments.

- Integrate Red Hat solutions with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud models.

Additional Responsibilities :

- Document architecture designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

- Provide technical guidance and training on Linux, Kubernetes, and automation best practices.

- Collaborate with security teams to implement best practices for compliance and governance.

- Stay updated with emerging trends in hybrid cloud, DevOps, and containerization.

Qualifications & Experience :

- 10+ years of experience in Linux systems administration, virtualization, and containerization.

- Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and automation with Ansible.

- Hands-on experience with Rancher, OpenShift, and Kubernetes orchestration.

- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (Red Hat Virtualization, VMware vSphere, KVM).

- Understanding of cloud-native applications and hybrid cloud architectures.

- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN), service meshes, and API gateways is a plus.

Preferred Certifications :

- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift/Kubernetes.

- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Rancher Certified Engineer.

- VMware VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization).

- Cisco CCNP Data Center or Cisco UCS Specialist Certification (Optional).
