Job Description

Position Summary:(Purpose, expected results & degree of freedom)Responsible for Planning, Coordination and control to get Production Targets and establish plant policies and procedures and foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
Principal Job Responsibilities

• To plan and prepare Production schedule to achieve Production targets and product quality norms.

Resource Planning: -

• To make planning for resources like Manpower Resources, Raw Material, Equipment & machinery to achieve the Production targets. Confer with other department heads to ensure timely procurement or required materials and equipments.

Process Monitoring: -

• To lead in technology transfer for ensuring effective and smooth scale up of new products as per time and quality commitment.

• Resolution of unexpected issues that crop up during technology transfer

• To monitor the process of production as it should be as per cGMP, SOPs and Company policies and Procedures.
• To ensure all aspect of Production are as per qualitative as well as quantitative norms and ensure batches are charged as per charging plans.
• To lay down procedure to report, evaluate, investigate and record of production deviations.
• Review and obtain necessary approval with respect to validation, qualification, calibration, protocol
• To monitor both aspect of production i.e. efficiency of Production and Cost effectiveness.
• To ensure that records regarding Raw material, Intermediates goods and finished goods are maintained properly. Review of Production / Batch Records and other related documents, from time to time.
• Technology Up-gradation & Process Development: Continuously look for better techniques and processes in coordination with R & D and/or outside agencies as required from time to time. Optimizations of resources to minimize wastages.

Troubleshooting: -To monitor day to day activities like Shutdown, Breakdown, Maintenance of Equipment, Preventive maintenance, Up gradation of Machinery/Equipment. Minimize breakdown and shutdown in order to ensure smooth operations. .

• To prepare manpower budget and draft a timescale for the job and allocate manpower effectively and ensure maximum productivity and review the performance of employees and coordination with Human Resource Department for appropriate staffing levels.
• To review the performance of subordinates and identify the training needs, imparting training and establish & maintain a positive community relationship and foster a well trained and motivated staff
• Responsible for Internal as well as External Audits.
• To ensure zero accidents & incident and compliance to safety audits and neat & clean plant.
• To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their Head from time to time.

Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

• Ensure the implementation of safety work processes in the plant thru Operating Managers
• Ensure EHS policy implementation on the floor/at the plant thru Operating Managers
• Resource availability for EHS training, inspections, corrective actions, and other EHS program requirements.
• Study trends of accidents / incidents and recommend actions to avoid recurrence.

Qualification Minimum: B. Sc. or M.Sc. Chemistry, Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engg.
Desirable: PG Diploma in Operations management.

Experience15 to 20 Years experience in API Manufacturing Unit.
