Job Summary:

The Facility Manager Paint Shop is responsible for overseeing end-to-end painting operations, ensuring smooth workflow, adherence to production schedules, and maintaining quality standards. The role requires optimizing processes, minimizing defects and wastage, ensuring compliance with safety and statutory regulations, and effectively managing a large team of operators.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

1. Oversee and manage the entire painting process to ensure seamless operations.
2. Ensure adherence to production schedules, targets, and quality standards while continuously improving operational efficiency.
3. Optimize workflow, reduce cycle time, and enhance overall efficiency of the paint shop.
4. Ensure all painted parts meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Quality Control & Process Improvement:

1. Monitor and analyze defects, rework, and paint wastage, and submit weekly reports with insights and corrective actions.
2. Implement best practices to minimize rework, enhance paint quality, and improve first-pass yield.
3. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.

Safety & Compliance:

1. Ensure strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, workplace safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
2. Maintain statutory and compliance requirements, including Billing, PPF, ESI, and other labor laws applicable to the facility.

Production & Resource Planning:

1. Plan and align production schedules with overall business demands to ensure timely output.
2. Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain optimum stock levels of paints and related materials.

Leadership & Team Management:

1. Lead and manage a team of approximately 100 operators, ensuring workforce efficiency and skill development.
2. Foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and accountability to meet production and quality targets.
3. Provide regular reports on production output, quality performance, efficiency metrics, and improvement initiatives.

Interdepartmental Coordination:

1. Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth operations.
2. Work closely with management to align paint shop performance with organizational goals.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience handling both low and high production volumes efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Sound knowledge of paint shop processes, defect analysis, and process optimization.
• Understanding of billing, statutory compliance, PPF, ESI, and labor laws.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for interdepartmental collaboration.
