Business Intelligence Consultant - Power BI (3-5 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.

- Perform advanced calculations and data manipulation within Power BI Desktop using functions such as Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, and Table.

- Publish reports to app.powerbi.com, configure necessary connections, and establish automated scheduling for data refreshes.

- Connect Power BI Desktop to various data sources, with a strong understanding of SQL Server databases being highly desirable.

- Create compelling and informative data visualizations using a variety of chart types, including Slicers, Lines, Pies, Histograms, Maps, Scatter plots, Bullet charts, Heat Maps, and Tree maps.

- Develop dashboards, volume reports, operating summaries, presentations, and graphs to meet business requirements.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.

- Communicate findings and insights clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in data analysis and reporting processes.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in business intelligence and data visualization, particularly within the Power BI ecosystem.

- Contribute to the development and maintenance of data documentation and metadata.

- Participate in data quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of information.

Qualifications :

- 3+ years of proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Power BI.

- Expert-level proficiency in MS Power BI Desktop, including advanced calculations using Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, and Table functions.

- Extensive experience publishing reports to app.powerbi.com, setting up connections, and scheduling data refreshes.

- Strong understanding of connecting Power BI Desktop to various data sources, with expertise in SQL Server being highly desirable.

- Proficient in data visualization principles and best practices, with experience creating a wide range of chart types and interactive dashboards.

- Experience in creating dashboards, volume reports, operating summaries, presentations, and graphs.

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.

- Demonstrable experience interacting with and understanding the needs of business stakeholders (customer-facing experience is a must).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics) is preferred.

Bonus Points :

- Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik Sense).

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).

- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., DAX, Python).
