Senior Structural Engineer - Commercial - GFS

Description

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:

• Lead structural design of projects from the conceptual phase

through design completion for project needs and requirements

that are set forth by the project managers

• Perform analysis and design of various super structures and

foundations for industrial facilities, design of steel and concrete

buildings

• Provide geotechnical report review, analysis and comments /

clarifications on the same

• Review equipment vendor drawings and fabrication drawings

• Capture internal client requirements and if needed, advise them

regarding structural/civil systems/requirements available to

meet their needs and comply with safety codes

• Coordinate with other disciplines, client(s) and other stake

holder(s) to develop a clash free system design

• Manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule and budget

• Monitor quality, budget and schedule KPI s for the assigned

project, as necessary

• Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates, and

report project performance.

• Lead one of the lanes of the GFS and develop lane by talking to

BMcD counterparts.

• Support DM in manpower planning, hiring, work forecasting and

maintaining high chargeability of the group

• Identify project-specific skill requirements and assign qualified

staff in consultation with DM

• Serve as technical advisor, provide senior level Inputs

• Be responsible for QA/QC process adherence.

• Be responsible for compliance with company and site safety

policies

• Support the performance feedback collection process, conduct

performance appraisal meetings with the team

• Train and develop team members, identify upskill opportunities

and formulate career development plans to guide career

progression

• Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the Structural

engineering practice

• Provide mentorship and guidance to emerging engineers

• Be responsible for effective communication with other

engineering disciplines

• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

General Requirements

Our ideal Senior Structural Engineer will have:

• Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution (Masters in Structural

Engineering will be an added advantage)

• 10 years of working experience

• EPC project experience preferred.

• Dynamic personality, eager to learn and interested in a stable commitment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Willingness and ability to travel to the United States to support inter- departmental initiatives

• Strong people management skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong Interpersonal skills

Tools

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the following tools:

• Any design software/tool like STAAD Pro, Risa 3D, SAFE, ETABs, etc.

• Knowledge of Navisworks will be added advantage.

• Knowledge of REVIT (Structural) or AutoCAD Plant 3D will be an added advantage.

• Microsoft Office Tools - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote

• Understanding of codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, IBC,AISC, etc.) and its applicability for

practical design of industrial facilities
