Job Summary:


We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Captain to lead our front-of-house team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Captain, you will oversee the service of guests, manage the dining floor, and ensure smooth operations during service. You will act as a liaison between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff, ensuring that all guests needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:


  • Guest Service Excellence:
    Greet and seat guests with a warm, professional demeanor, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. Address any guest concerns or special requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Supervision & Leadership:
    Oversee and coordinate the activities of servers, bussers, and other front-of-house staff, ensuring they are providing excellent service and adhering to restaurant standards.
  • Order Management:
    Take and deliver food orders to guests in a timely manner. Ensure accuracy and quality control for all orders, coordinating with the kitchen staff to address any special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Table Management:
    Manage seating arrangements to maximize the flow of the dining room and ensure efficient use of tables. Monitor the pacing of service to ensure guests are being served in a timely manner.
  • Training & Mentorship:
    Train and mentor new staff members, providing guidance on service standards, customer interactions, and product knowledge.
  • Communication:
    Serve as the main point of contact between front-of-house and back-of-house staff, ensuring smooth communication regarding guest orders, food preparation, and special requests.
  • Guest Relations:
    Build rapport with regular guests, identify opportunities to exceed guest expectations, and help create a memorable dining experience.
  • Maintain Cleanliness & Organization:
    Ensure the dining area is clean, organized, and properly set up for service. Ensure all front-of-house staff is following health and safety regulations.
  • Sales & Upselling:
    Help drive sales by recommending menu items, wine pairings, and special promotions, ensuring guests are fully aware of the offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wine and cocktail pairings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • Ability to lead by example, motivating and inspiring the team.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
