SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Encyclopaedia Britannica is looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable photo media manager.

The ideal Photo Media Manager candidate will have:
* Strong visual literacy with a specialization in photography.
* A proven ability to use visual materials as an integral part of storytelling.
* Experience navigating library catalogs, museum and archive collections, and stock image websites.
* Solid research and writing skills.
* Working knowledge of copyright laws and experience researching copyright permissions.
* Fluency in Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
* Ability to manage a team of photo editors.
* Experience negotiating licenses and contracts with photography vendors.
* Ability to tackle multiple projects at a time in a time-sensitive environment.
This candidate will work with experienced media professionals at one of the worlds most trusted sources of knowledge and a leading provider of curricula to students and lifelong learners from around the world. From its proud history as the publisher of encyclopedias, Britannica has grown into a web-based education and consumer information company serving trusted media to a growing audience.

Skills/Knowledge:
Strong PC/Mac skills; working knowledge of Google Workspace, MS Office, and Adobe Photoshop. Strong knowledge of current copyright laws and personality/estate issues. Intermediate knowledge of Creative Commons licensing. The candidate should demonstrate an ability to connect evolving technology to the enhancement of story experiences for users and viewers of media. Being a problem solver and a good team player is a must, from traditional thinking to digital asset management, to visual discovery.
Other Requirements:
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work with a creative staff to achieve company goals.
Must be deadline obsessive, able to juggle several projects at the same time and be willing to occasionally work outside of normal business hours when needed.
