Job Title: Sr. Vice President

Jobs reporting into: Accounts Team

Job overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller with expert level knowledge in financial accounting, audit, related compliance udder Companies Act and other applicable laws and internal controls. This role requires a proactive and forward-thinking professional who is passionate about integrating technology, streamlining processes, and providing real-time decision support to enable business decision making process. A deep understanding of statutory requirements, Real Estate Business (All asset classes), and SAP systems is essential, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

What will you do?

1. Financial Accounting/Reporting and Governance:

- Lead the Accounts team & oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS- Ind-AS/GAAP standards & applicable disclosures.

- Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, which includes ICFR, ITGS Audit, Companies Act, Banking regulations, Loan agreements and covenants compliance, Shareholders agreements, Joint Development agreements and evolving accounting standards.

- Quick adoption to any changes with respect to financial reporting and disclosures under applicable accounting standards & related areas under Companies Act.

- Develop, implement & update policies for accurate & timely financial reporting and governance that reflects the Group's performance for the reporting period/s. This will include written accounting positions, tax positions wrt accounting & any judgements involved in accounting.

2. Audit and Compliance Excellence:

- Lead statutory and internal audits, managing auditor relationships and ensuring timely and accurate audit deliverables. Proactively engage with Auditors for Audit planning and execution & avoid any kind of issues during Audit process. Establish trust and reliability with Auditors and other stakeholders based on micro planning and proactive approach.

- Establish and refine internal controls (accounting and operational) over financial reporting, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance with ICFR frameworks.

- Proactively track audit findings and implementation of corrective measures across all business units. Timely escalations in case required.

3. Strategic Business Partnering:

- Collaborate closely with CFO, SBU Heads, and Chairman's Office to:

- Execute and implement long range plans (LRP) for business across verticals.

- Track all lead indicators that ensures delivery of LRP & tracking project parameters in line with agreed targets & provide alerts on critical deviations if any.

- Active participation in fund raising for Group companies & drive all deliverables with respect to Auditors & Lead Bankers.

- Lead Finance Due Diligence in case of new acquisitions of projects / businesses.

- Continuously look for opportunities for optimization of profitability & cashflows & bring up such initiatives.

4. MIS and Data-Driven Decision Support:

- Work towards integrating Management Information System (MIS) to enable real-time data for decision support and analytics based on GAP analysis.

- Standardize reporting frameworks across functional areas to ensure consistency and transparency & reduce duplication of efforts. Continuously focus on timely reporting of Budget Vs Actuals across business verticals and Functions.

- Prepare and regularly update advanced financial model to support decision-making for senior leadership.

5. Technology and Process Optimization:

- Play a significant role in the optimization of ERP systems (SAP), ensuring seamless integration of financial data across functions & system based in-built controls.

- Drive automation initiatives for critical finance processes, reducing manual intervention and increasing operational efficiency.

- Active participation & support to CFO in implementing identified initiatives for AI and Automation across Group companies.

ESG Integration and governance:

- Support CFO to establish reporting framework for ESG reporting initiatives. Oversee data collection, validation, and reporting for ESG metrics, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Participate in team working towards integrated reporting of ESG as part of Annual Report.

7. Team Leadership and Mentoring:

Provide strong leadership to Accounts team & enable them to excel in work as well as get cross trained for other activities of the function.

Identify and implement upskilling initiatives to enable the team members to cope with evolving roles and responsibilities towards growth.

Ensure robust succession planning and talent development within the Accounts function.

What are we looking for?

- Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) with 10-15 years of thorough experience in financial accounting, statutory audit, ICFR, managing intricate SAP system, and internal controls. Preferably from a RE background. Must be able to command respect from stakeholders through value addition and expertise, demonstrate maturity & leadership skills. Extremely high on Customer service (Internal as well as External)

- Technical competencies:

Proven expertise in IFRS- Ind-AS/GAAP, statutory compliance relating to accounts audit and disclosures in Annual report. Ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.

Advanced knowledge of SAP and ERP systems, with hands-on experience in optimization.

Proficiency in advanced analytics, data visualization tools, and data management platforms.

Familiarity with real estate accounting principles and related statutory requirements.

- Technological orientation:

Experience of ERP (SAP) system Implementation, enhancements, process automation, and the implementation of advanced analytics platforms.

Strong understanding of in-built system controls and their application in ensuring data integrity and compliance.

- Leadership Attributes:

- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on long-term financial planning.

- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with senior stakeholders, including auditors, business heads, and the AC members at times.

- Resilient, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.

- Preference:

Female candidates with a proven ability to excel in high-stakes roles are preferred.
