Market Research Analyst - Chemicals

Role & responsibilities

• Primary research through high-level interviews with industry experts, both over the phone and face-to-face, throughout the APAC region.
• Managing language experts for non-English speaking Asian countries and coordinating the research for the region
• Secondary intelligence gathering including the collection and analysis of supporting statistics (e.g. macro-economic indicators, published statistics etc.)
• Analyzing data to a high level of accuracy and formulating concise written reports. Report writing and data analysis experience are necessary for this position
• Updating our existing database of market data and company profile information
• Maintaining and expanding our network of contacts in the chemicals industry
• International travel might also be required.

Preferred candidate profile

• A bachelors or masters degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or similar
• 2-5 years work experience in a market research, business advisory or consultancy domain, ideally able to work independently from early on
• Commitment, self-motivation, an enquiring mind and a genuine interest in the structure and market dynamics in the chemicals sector
• A strong understanding of how a variety of outside influences can drive the chemicals sector
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, including total fluency in English. Fluency in any other language would be highly desirable
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent proficiency in Excel, and sound command of PowerPoint and Word
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills and the capacity to work both independently and within a team.
• Prior experience in polyurethane and insulation sector is an desirable but not mandatory.
