Job Title: Planning Engineer
Job Summary:
The Planning Engineer will oversee the planning and scheduling of engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget, on time, and according to specifications. This role involves coordinating resources, managing project timelines, identifying potential risks, and ensuring effective communication among all project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

• Project Scheduling: Develop, update, and monitor project schedules, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
• Resource Planning: Coordinate and allocate resources (e.g., labor, materials, equipment) to ensure project progress and avoid delays.
• Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and assist with cost estimation and forecasting.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies to prevent project delays.
• Progress Tracking: Track the progress of ongoing projects and ensure they are aligned with timelines.
• Report Generation: Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
• Forecasting: Predict project needs in terms of materials, manpower, and equipment to maintain schedules.
• Compliance: Ensure that the project adheres to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and safety guidelines.
• Change Management: Assess changes in scope and project timelines, incorporating them into the overall project schedule.
• Document Management: Maintain detailed records of project documents, including plans, schedules, and progress reports.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in planning and scheduling projects, preferably in construction, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Strong proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with cost control and resource management.
• Knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and safety regulations.
• Understanding of contract management and project documentation.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Prince2).
• Experience in risk management and mitigation.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean).

Work Environment:

• Office-based with occasional site visits.
• May require travel to various project locations.
• Work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work.
