Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Solar DC Expert to join our team. The candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and reliability of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across various stages, from project planning inspection to operation and maintenance. This role demands extensive expertise in solar module testing, technical due diligence, quality management, and design optimization for utility-scale solar power projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Solar Module & Inverter Testing and Quality Assurance
- Conduct performance testing of solar modules, including IV curve analysis, thermography, insulation resistance, and module degradation studies.
- Lead pre-dispatch and on-site module inspections to ensure adherence to IEC, UL, and project-specific standards.
- Implement and manage quality management systems (QMS), field quality plans, and material quality plans for solar projects.
- Lead and coordinate engineering changes with module manufacturers.
- Finalize QAP and technical parameters for solar modules and other peripheral equipment in sync with design team requirements, third-party inspections (TPI), and OEM offerings.
- Conduct OEM factory audits, third-party inspections, and pre-dispatch inspections, and prepare and release MDCC.
- Continuously improve QAP, conduct, and lead on-site inspections and audits.
Project Design and Technical Analysis
- Perform preliminary DC system design using tools like Helioscope and PVsyst for CAPEX estimation and investor presentations.
- Analyze year-on-year module degradation for financial and operational insights.
- Prepare and review detailed project reports, feasibility studies, and technical due diligence documents for solar and hybrid projects.
- Ensure adherence to ISO (9001, 14001, 18001), BIS, IEC, EN, ASTM, and ASME standards during all project phases.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors and third-party agencies for quality reviews and approvals.
- Maintain knowledge of BOCW, CEA regulations, and the Factory Act.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers on technical specifications for solar module procurement and raw materials.
- Lead customer calls to address warranty claims and quality issues.
Team Leadership and Training
- Manage and train teams of engineers for site testing and quality inspections.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for solar modules and other project components.

Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Master s in Renewable Energy or related field (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 9-12 years in solar energy, focusing on module testing, project quality assurance, and technical due diligence.
- Hands-on experience in utility-scale solar PV projects, including managing portfolios exceeding 1 GW.
- ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Internal Auditor Certification (preferred).
- PVSyst Certification or similar.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred). Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in solar design software (PVsyst, Helioscope).
- Expertise in testing procedures such as IV curve analysis, thermal cycling, hail impact, and degradation assessments.
- Familiarity with standards like IEC and UL.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder interactions.
- Team leadership and collaboration abilities.
