Sr Test Engineer

Position Summary:

Responsible for executing test and characterization experiments on SOFC / SOEC Fuel Cell test stations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Hands on operation of High Temperature Fuel Cell test stations.
• Supervising technicians for setting up and running the fuel cell stack tests.
• Conducting test startup checklist and safety checklist before test start-up.
• Develop fuel cell test plans and procedures.
• Design Develop Fuel Cell test rigs and automation using Labview Software
• Test procedure documentation.
• Cross functional discussions with project owners in defining the scope of experiments and negotiating
• schedules.
• Troubleshooting test station equipment failures by systematic 8-D approach.
• Use data analysis tools like JMP and advanced statistical analysis tools to compile the results and derive conclusions Participate in new test station design / development projects in coordination with US counterparts.
• Ability to work as a part of a team and on own initiative.

Skills Required:

• Technical knowledge in electrochemistry or Fuel cell operation
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, plumbing, valve and valve operation
• Knowledge of instrumentation and labview software would be an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of working safely with fuels (natural gas, propane & hydrogen)
• Experience in basic IT Software requirement/installation (Windows OS, MS-Office)
• Must be a HIGHLY effective communicator at all levels (phone, e-mail & verbal)

Education:

• Bachelor's in Electrochemical Engr, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering with 3-4 years experience in Electrochemical / Battery / Fuel Cell testing.
• Masters in Electrochemical / Material science / Chemical Engineering with 1-2 years experience in Electrochemical / Battery / Fuel cell testing.
• Masters in Electrochemical / Materials science / Chemical engineering from IITs / Premier institutes may be considered with 0 experience

Experience: 0-4 years related experience in Electrochemical / Battery / Fuel cell testing.
