CNC Shift Incharge

Role Objective:

To oversee and manage the daily machining operations of CNC and robotic equipment, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining high production standards, and optimizing operational efficiency. The role also involves managing staff, ensuring adherence to quality norms, and maintaining accurate records for smooth shift transitions.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Technical experience in handling CNC machines and robotic equipment, preferably from a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong understanding of SOPs and production processes.
• Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to all applicable SOPs throughout the production process.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness in the production room, including all instruments and equipment such as CNC machines, robots, and measuring tools.
• Supervise and monitor all operations to ensure compliance with SOPs and production standards.
• Manage operator attendance and ensure sufficient staffing levels for uninterrupted operations.
• Maintain accurate records, including tool inventories, at the end of each shift and provide a detailed handover to the next shift in-charge.
• Follow instructions from the Head of Department and effectively communicate updates to the next shift in-charge.
• Submit all scrap material to the Quality Control (QC) department as per BMR guidelines at the end of the shift.
• Execute orders following the FIFO (First In, First Out) system, ensuring no backlog of batches during the shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the rejection rate remains within acceptable norms.
• Achieve and maintain an overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of greater than 95% across all three shifts.
• Address high rejection rates and low production efficiency, reporting directly to the Production Manager.
• Provide training and maintain discipline among the staff under your supervision.

Functional Skills Required:

• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting CNC and robotic machines.
• Knowledge of production processes and quality control standards.
• Ability to interpret and implement SOPs effectively.
• Strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
• Understanding of inventory management, particularly FIFO systems.

Behavioral Skills Required:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination between shifts.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks effectively.
