Job Description

Must be thoroughly conversant with Normal conformation, Condition, behaviour and Temperament of Healthy Animals and must be able to detect slightest abnormalities.
Must be able to discern subtle signs and symptoms of disease or distress in Animals.
Must possess a sense of devotion towards the animals, their wellbeing and must have an inherent understanding of their requirements.
Must have the ability to check the fitness and physical Health of Animals.
Must have knowledge of Handling and Restraining animals.
Must be able to set clear expectation on Animal Health and Husbandry plan for the Farm .Must have thorough knowledge about diagnosis, Treatment and care of Animals. Must be able to treat animals for disease /distress with successful outcomes.
Ensure availability of Medicines and maintenance of stock.
Must have in-depth knowledge about aseptic procedures during immunization, Blood collection and Blood transfusion. To ensure that these activities are done aseptically without causing any distress to the animals.
Must be responsible for selection of animals, Quarantine, Deworming and vaccination of animals.
Must select the animals for program; immunization and blood collection based on clinical chemistry, history, veterinary examination.
Feed management and Animal Husbandry.
Must demonstrate subject leadership and inspire veterinary Assistants, Supervisors and other para-staff to achieve high standard of performance.
Should understand strategic goals of the Farm and help conduct Farm activities in line with common objectives.
Should be accountable for proper Farm management and Daily operations. Must ensure smooth conduct of daily Farm operations.
Must identify and act on opportunities of Operational improvement. Imbibe a culture of animal welfare amongst the staff and impart training as necessary.
Must be accountable for Dressing, Grooming, Hoof care and Exercise of animals.
Must ensure all Records and documentation is maintained and updated as per CCSEA Guidelines/ internal SOPs. Ensure audit readiness with respect to Facility, Documentation and Animals.
Must have good Team spirit and be a continuous learner. Must take initiative and be available as required in case of Animal Health emergencies.
