Field Service Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Engineer to join our team, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated slide stainer's used in laboratories and clinical diagnostics. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise and support to ensure optimal performance of these advanced staining instruments, contributing to accurate and efficient laboratory workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Commissioning:
• Install and set up automated slide stainers at customer sites.
• Ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards before handover.
• Train laboratory staff on proper use and maintenance of the system.
2. Maintenance and Repairs:
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or software-related issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service logs and provide detailed service reports to clients and management.
3. Technical Support:
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide remote or on-site troubleshooting assistance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues promptly.
• Ensure minimal downtime of equipment by delivering timely and effective solutions.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
• Gather customer feedback to improve product performance and service quality.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations for optimizing instrument use.
5. Training and Documentation:
• Conduct user training sessions for laboratory staff on best practices and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, including user manuals and service protocols.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in automated staining technologies.
6. Quality and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards during all service activities.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures for service operations.
• Proactively identify potential risks and implement solutions to mitigate them.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  Bachelors degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in servicing laboratory equipment, preferably automated slide stainers or similar diagnostic devices.
• Strong understanding of histopathology or cytology laboratory workflows is a plus.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics and service manuals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and reporting.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
• Requirements:
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
