InfoTech_Network Engineer - Contract

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance of the organisations systems

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design & Implementation:

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Implement network segmentation, VLANs, and QoS to optimise performance and security.

Network Operations & Maintenance:

• Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network management tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, connectivity problems LAN & Wi-Fi, and hardware failures.
• Manage firewall rules, ACLs, and security policies to protect against cyber threats.

Security & Compliance:

• Aware network security best practices, including firewall configurations, ZPA, VPN setups, and access controls.
• Work closely with the security team to mitigate vulnerabilities and enforce compliance with regulatory standards.

Cloud & Hybrid Networking:

• Support cloud networking (Azure) and hybrid connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
• Implement and manage IP-Sec solutions.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management:

• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for network outages and implement long-term fixes.
• Act as a Level 2/3 escalation point for network-related incidents.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed network topology diagrams, configurations, and change records.
• Provide periodic reports on network performance, security incidents, and improvement plans.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6-7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong expertise in Cisco, Fortinet, Ruckus or equivalent networking technologies.
• Proficiency in routing protocols and switching protocols.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure), IP-Sec, and hybrid networking.
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with ticketing and ITSM tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a global IT team environment.

Preferred Certifications (a plus, but not mandatory):

• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
• CommScope Ruckus Certified Associates
• Fortinet NSE4+
• AWS/Azure Networking Certification
