Job Description Cold Room Technician

Job Summary:

The Cold Room Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cold storage units, refrigeration systems, and associated equipment to ensure efficient operation and optimal temperature control.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair cold rooms and refrigeration systems.

1.Perform routine maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns.

2.Diagnose technical issues and replace faulty components (compressors, evaporators, condensers, etc.).

3.Ensure all refrigeration systems comply with safety and environmental regulations.

4.Monitor temperature controls and calibrate systems for efficiency.

5.Handle refrigerants safely, following industry and environmental guidelines.

6.Maintain service records and report on maintenance activities.

7.Collaborate with other technicians and facility teams to ensure smooth operations.

8.Respond to emergency repair requests promptly.

Qualifications & Skills:

*Education: Diploma or certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

*Experience: 2+ years of experience in cold room maintenance or refrigeration systems.

*Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and HVAC troubleshooting.

*Proficiency in using tools like pressure gauges, multimeters, and welding equipment.

*Understanding of refrigerants and compliance with safety standards.

*Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Certifications:

*EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification

*HVAC or Refrigeration Technician Certification

*Any relevant safety training (OSHA, First Aid, etc.)

Work Environment:

*May require working in cold temperatures for extended periods.

*Occasional on-call duties for urgent repairs.
*Wiling to travel to different locations.
*Need to have two wheelers.
