Brief of Job Profile:
A trainer in Electrical Skills is responsible for imparting technical knowledge, practical skills, and industry-specific competencies to individuals seeking employment or advancement in the electrical sector. The trainer will deliver comprehensive theoretical and practical training to students, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role encompasses curriculum development, hands-on laboratory instruction, adherence to stringent safety protocols, and preparation of students for industry-recognized certifications. The role also involves designing and delivering training programs that align with industry standards, enhance workforce capabilities, and contribute to the overall skill development of participants.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Create and maintain training materials, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises, to effectively teach faculty related skills.
2. Conduct engaging classroom lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions using diverse instructional methodologies.
3. Conduct training sessions over a wide range of topics, including equipment operation, safety procedures, quality control, and process optimization.
4. Provide practical, hands-on training, ensuring trainees are familiar with the equipment and processes they will be working on.
5. Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards while providing thorough instruction on solar installation safety protocols.
6. Ensure that all training activities emphasize safety protocols and regulatory compliance. Trainees should be well-versed in safety best practices to reduce workplace accidents.
7. Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and administer assessments to measure trainee progress and competency.
8. To review course content and delivery methods on a regular basis.
9. Provide regular feedback on the trainees progress including achievements; identify and articulate any areas for improvement as early as possible and take appropriate steps to facilitate improvement in performance or initiate remediation processes.
10. Prepare the lab manuals and update the same according to the updated syllabus/industry requirement.
11. Integrate modern training technologies or simulations, to enhance training effectiveness and engagement.
12. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to ensure that training content remains relevant and competitive.
13. Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including attendance, performance assessments, and feedback from trainees.
14. He/she should be actively involved in industrial training for their upskilling as per the time requirement.
15. Maintain and keeping the Inventory of consumables and equipment available within the store/workshop of faculty and maintaining the record of the material available within the faculty.
16. Evaluation of tutorials, assignments, answer papers.
17. Responsible for the approval of the leaves of students.
18. Coordinate the external visits within the faculty.
19. Provide mentorship to the students.
20. Other responsibilities as assigned by the reporting officer.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
1. Bachelor of Vocational Studies (B.Voc) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related discipline.
2. Certification in Solar PV Installation (MNRE, NSDC, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
3. Minimum of 3-5 years of proven industrial experience in the solar PV sector.
4. Prior experience in technical or vocational training is advantageous.
Key Competencies requirements:
1. Basic proficiency in delivering training sessions using a variety of methods, such as lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises.
2. Advanced technical hands on proficiency in solar photovoltaic (PV) system design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
3. Proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PVsyst) is preferred.
4. Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver theoretical and practical training sessions.
5. Clear verbal and written communication to explain concepts and instructions.
6. Active listening skills to understand participants' questions and concerns.
7. Willingness to learn and deepen expertise in relevant areas.
8. Flexibility in adjusting training approaches based on participant needs.
9. Openness to feedback and a willingness to refine training methods.
10. Ability to work collaboratively with senior trainers, colleagues, and other team members.
11. Basic organizational skills to manage training materials, schedules, and participant records.
12. Basic proficiency in using training technologies, audio-visual equipment, and online resources.
13. Proficiency in IT skills.
14. Comprehensive understanding of industry safety standards and electrical regulatory requirements.
