About Us:
SchulteMarine Concept (SMC), a group company of Bernhard Schulte and a leadingprovider of shipbuilding consultancy, owners supervision and plan approvalservices in the marine industry operating worldwide, is looking for suitablecandidate to be part of a team for providing \u201cPlan approval & marineconsultancy\u201d.
Job Objective:
Handlesaccording to SMC policies and procedures the technical purchasing activities forvessels under Companys management, executing with accuracy the purchasing planand providing solutions that meet the technical specifications of the vessels.Contributes to the identification of most suitable suppliers and to the timelyacquisition of all requested material, spare parts, services and equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Review of shipbuilding specifications, Builder developedPlans, drawings, calculations, Equipment drawings, technical agreements,attending 3-D model reviews on be -half of Owners and negotiating them withBuilders and designers teams.
- Coordinating and attending plan approval clarificationmeetings with Builders designer team to discuss and resolve plan reviewcomments. Also, with project site teamsas required.
- Occasionally attending sea trials, gas trials, Factoryacceptance tests. Preparing and submitting reports on such tests. Review ofspeed trial reports, vibration measurement reports, noise measurement reports,sea trial reports, gas trial reports.
- Developing in-house plan review procedures.
- Coordinating and holding \u201cPlan approval kickoff meetings\u201dwith Builders team and plan approval closure meetings.
- Coordinating with ship operations team or Owners ingathering operational input and creating lessons learned documents forimplementation on new project.
- Coordinating with project site teams in gathering lessonslearned input related to design, production, construction, and testing.
RequirementsEducation &Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree or Higher in Electrical Engineering.
WorkExperience:
- Electrical engineers - with seagoing experience, Ownersnewbuilding experience and plan approval experience with good computer skills.Sailing experience on Tankers is preferable. Dry cargo can be considered as analternative.
- Experience on new-shipbuilding, design or commissioning ofships will be considered as added advantage.
Job-SpecificSkills:
- Strong knowledge ofvessels technical requirements and / or Vessels design requirements
- Good Knowledge ofStatutory and regulatory requirements for new ship builds.
- Excellent negotiationskills.
- Excellent communicationabilities
- Strong organizationaland project management skills
- Fluency in English
- PC literacy
