Job Description

Handles according to SMC policiesand procedures the technical purchasing activities for vessels under Company\u2019s management,executing with accuracy the purchasing plan and providing solutions that meetthe technical specifications of the vessels. Contributes to the identificationof most suitable suppliers and to the timely acquisition of all requested material,spare parts, services and equipment.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Review of shipbuildingspecifications, Builder developed Plans, drawings, calculations, Equipmentdrawings, technical agreements, attending 3-D model reviews on be -half ofOwners and negotiating them with Builder\u2019s and designer\u2019s teams.

2. Coordinating andattending plan approval clarification meetings with Builders designer team todiscuss and resolve plan review comments. Also with project site teams as required.

3. Occasionally attendingsea trials, gas trials, Factory acceptance tests. Preparing and submittingreports on such tests. Review of speed trial reports, vibration measurementreports, noise measurement reports, sea trial reports, gas trial reports.

4. Developing in-house plan review procedures.

5. Coordinating and holding \u201cPlan approval kickoffmeetings\u201d with Builders team and plan approval closure meetings.

6. Coordinating with shipoperation\u2019s team or Owner\u2019s in gathering operational input and creating lessonslearned documents for implementation on new project.

7. Coordinating with project site teams ingathering lessons learned input related to design, production, construction,and testing.

Requirements

Education& Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree or Higher inNaval Architect.

Work Experience:

Experience onnew-shipbuilding, design or commissioning of ships will be considered as addedadvantage.

Job-Specific Skills:

Strong knowledge ofvessels\u2019 technical requirements and / orVessels design requirements.

Good Knowledge of Statutoryand regulatory requirements for new ship builds.

Very good negotiationskills.

Excellent communicationabilities.

Strong organisational andproject management skills.

Fluency in English.
