Position Overview:
The Sales & Marketing Lead will play a pivotal role in establishing and expanding our presence in India. This strategic position combines leadership, market development, and operational execution to achieve business growth. The role demands a proactive individual with a strong sales background, deep expertise in the shipping and customs software domain, and a willingness to travel extensively within India.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Strategy & Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the Indian shipping and customs software sector.
- Develop and implement a robust sales and marketing strategy tailored for the Indian market.
- Continuously monitor industry developments and competitor activities to refine approaches and maintain a competitive advantage.
2. Sales Leadership:
- Drive the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring revenue targets are consistently met or exceeded.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities through networking, industry events, and referrals.
3. Marketing Excellence:
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create localized content, promotional materials, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our solutions.
4. Client Engagement & Support:
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring their requirements are addressed and satisfaction levels are high.
- Provide product demonstrations, training, and onboarding support to new and existing clients.
- Collect client feedback to guide product enhancements and innovation.
5. Travel:
- Frequently travel across India to meet with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Attend relevant domestic and international industry events when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing, ideally in the shipping, logistics, or software industry.
- Proven track record of success in a sales leadership role, including market entry and business growth.
- In-depth knowledge of the Indian market, with an understanding of cultural nuances influencing business practices.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
