BHTC GmbH - System Test Engineer - HMI (3-5 yrs)

About the Job :

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled System Test Engineer to execute test cases at the system level for automotive ECUs, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and timeline targets. This role focuses on system-level testing for automotive ECUs, particularly those related to Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems.

Responsibilities :

- Execute test cases at the system level for automotive ECUs such as climate control ECUs, Central Information Displays (CID), Passenger Information Displays (PID), and Instrument Clusters.

- Prepare test setups and program Test & Measurement tools for test execution, focusing on Haptic parameter tests, Touch parameter tests, and Electro-Mechanical tests.

- Maintain test setups and tools in optimal condition.

- Evaluate test results, prepare test reports and other project documentation, and communicate test results and potential system failures regularly to the project team.

- Support the Test Manager in conducting project-specific measurements.

- Contribute to updating test specifications for product qualification based on requirements.

- Participate in project meetings and manage assigned action items.

- Support the development of test concepts for new technologies.

- Assist in preventive maintenance checks of test tools and test systems.

Experience, Education, and Skills Required :

- BE / B.Tech (Electronics/Computer Science)

- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in system-level testing, particularly with HMI systems.

- Strong understanding of automotive ECUs and vehicle architecture.

- Experience in product validation at the system level.

- Solid knowledge of automotive test processes like the V-model and A-SPICE.

- Excellent English communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within international teams.

- A proactive approach with a willingness to take responsibility, demonstrating flexibility and operational readiness.

- Basic knowledge of Touch and Capacitive sensing concepts in Haptics.

- Proficiency in LabWindows/CVI or other Instrument Programming software (a significant advantage).

Good to Have :

- Robot programming knowledge and Python scripting skills.

- Experience with Illumination tests - camera-based tests / Optical Tests.

- Tool Calibration awareness.

- Familiarity with Automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, LVDS, and tools like CANoe.

- Proficiency in using Test & Measurement tools : Oscilloscopes, multi-meters, programmable power supplies, etc.

- Experience with configuration tools : JIRA, DOORS, Word, and Excel
