Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Outlet Manager

Manages daily restaurant operations and assists with Overall Outlet(s) Functioning. Ensures basic sanitation standards are met and assists the team on the floor during peak meal periods & when required. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize financial performance in areas of responsibility.

Reporting Relationship: Directly reports to the Senior Manager (or Area Manager if applicable)

Support departments: Finance, Purchase (SCM), Culinary, Marketing

Basic functions of Outlet Manager include:

  • Communication and listening skills at a high level to use during interaction internally and externally
  • Customer Orientation – to value customers and provide highest possible customer service
  • Stress Resistance – to cope with high workload and many different scenarios
  • Time Management – to organise and prioritise daily responsibilities and can multitask
  • Teamwork – to support and share responsibilities of the team in terms of overtime, shift work etc.
  • Problem Solving/Innovativeness – to look at situations from different angles and find new approaches or solutions in a timely manner
  • Emotional Intelligence/Soft Skills – to act in a multicultural environment and understand human nature, behaviour and needs of customer, supervisors and colleague and can co-operate with them

DESCRIPTION

•     Performs & supervises daily food orders/indents, checks invoice against charges and inventory received, with utmost attentiveness & accountability.

•     Assists outlet managers reporting to him/her with the planning and executing of achieving monthly labor and food cost goals. Accomplish this through efficient scheduling and minimal food waste.

•     Responsible for customer satisfaction. Resolve hospitality issues as they occur.

•     Play an important role in screening potential employees as per Eatopia Guidelines.

•     Constantly keep an eye & evaluate employees as immediate reports, & share employee work performance with a plan on improvements, as & when required by the review schedule of Eatopia.

•     Implement & suggests improvements (if any) in outlet budget plans to successfully increase profit margins. Created and implement team plans to imbibe this fully at various levels.

•     Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees and clients. Strong written and oral communication skills to ensure SOP’s are streamlined, tracked & implemented firmly.

  • Resolve employee grievances and correct demeanour by mediating or talking one-on-one with employee(s).
  • Ensure food safety and quality of food as well as customer satisfaction is pivotal.
  • Coordinate customer outreach and Mall/Tenant relations as mandated by the immediate supervisor.
  • Manage outlet vendors across maintenance, frequent services & mandates as set with timelines to ensure seamless servicing.
  • Monitor cost control, cash management, ordered inventory and prepare periodic sales & closing reports as per requested by Finance.
  • Responsible for all administrative aspects of the operations across outlets assigned, however not limited to.
  • Manages, governs & supervises daily shift operations and ensures compliance with all restaurant policies, standards and procedures.
  • Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest service and financial objectives are met, particularly in the hostess area
  • Develop cleaning schedules for Outlet Managers / associates; ensure associates follow cleaning schedules and keep their work areas through constant visits & reports weekly to reporting manager with suggestions & dissonances & good practises.
  • Update Reporting Manager of any issues regarding food quality and service levels in the prescribed formats.

Profile Requirements include :

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

(Critical Competencies and Behaviours to be demonstrated to achieve full satisfactory performance)

  • Qualifications: At least 2-3 years in the hospitality business; hotel or restaurant qualification preferable
  • Professional / Legal Skills: To have Food Industry Customer Service background and qualifications
  • Computer Knowledge: Essential Knowledge of the Internet, MS Office and Email
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written
  • Experience: Restaurant Service, Supervisory Skills, and basic Cash Handling experience is essential
  • Other Skills & Elements: Personable individual with an astute mind, approachable and goal driven. Ability to engage, motivate and lead a multi-racial/cultural team with aligned goal setting
