WHAT YOU'LL DO :
Founded in 2022, the Enterprise Services (ES) organization delivers efficient, resilient, and scalable services globally, supporting BCG's diverse teams. It is an evolving BCG organization that is predominantly focused on providing Global Business Services (GBS) activities to every part of BCG. It includes a range of business-critical services and expertise, including Global Finance & Operations Services (GFOS), Procurement & Payables, Travel, Meetings & Events, Case Team Services, ClientView (Lead-to-Cash), Real Estate, Executive Support Services, and Business Insights and Analytics; supported by transversal expertise in our product portfolios and excellence functions.
We are looking for an exceptional Manager for our Global Finance and Operations Services team, who will be one of the subject matter expert for the Global Finance Travel & Expense (T&E) function and will lead a growing team scaling and refining processes to support our fast growing business. You will be expected to develop deep understanding of the travel and expense policies and procedures, ensuring all processes are run effectively, efficiently and within business conduct parameters. This role is very high on customer centricity and so requires an individual with experience in working in Customer Service environment and knowledge of T&E processes and solutions to drive outstanding customer service and operational efficiency. The role entails the provision of services within the scope of T&E daily operations delivery, month end activities and customer support, acting as an operational subject matter expert (SME) and team management.
Roles and responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth understanding of travel & expense (T&E) policies for different geographies, educate team on various policies and implications, drive consistent and smooth operations
- Train and educate team on managing expense claims through T&E platform, review of expense claims for overall reasonableness and accuracy and ensuring that users are not in violation of the T&E policies
- Maintains and applies understanding of financial management, accounting concepts in day-to-day work and understand dependencies with other upstream & downstream processes
- Act as a key contact for business in issue resolution; project lead in system implementations, participating in testing efforts; connects with business stakeholders to understand issues and adapt process as needed. Be an escalation point in resolving complex issues with stakeholders
- Collaborate with and seek feedback from internal customers and stakeholders to ensure team and/or outsourced provider SLAs are being met or exceeded
- Independently drive and deliver on best practices across process incl. encouraging teams to bring new ideas, ensure governance through continuous monitoring and review of performance metrics of individuals and process, remediate process challenges and ensure ongoing compliance
- Ensure all processes are documented and harmonized in collaboration with team members, peers and stakeholders
- Development and ownership of control framework that enables identification of risks, assess its impact & likelihood and outlines a mitigation plan .Ensure testing of controls on a periodic basis using analytics (e.g. - trends, ratios, reasonableness, comparative analysis etc.)
- Provide support on internal controls and compliance relevant aspects: reporting, investigation of specific cases, analysis of expense report
- Deliver training sessions to team members, communicate new information and changes identified related to T&E process to all team members
- Support transition of processes from markets and responsible for successful knowledge transfer from market to GFOS T&E team within agreed timelines
- Lead continuous improvement of services in quality and effectiveness in close collaboration with stakeholders, ensures that troubleshooting efforts are completed for recurring problems until permanent solutions are found
- Ensure delivery of an effective, efficient and compliant travel and expenses audit process in accordance with agreed procedures and policies
- Support cross functional projects or processes related to travel
- Support implementation of integrated work- flow based T&E platform and other technology & automation initiatives
YOU'RE GOOD AT :
Functional and Technical Skills
- Demonstrated deep functional Finance large scale services expertise
- Deep understanding of global expense to pay domain, focus on T&E preferred
- Ability to provide insights to streamline and simplify processes and deliver value
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize within a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Comfort with ambiguity and willingness to embrace an iterative process
- Strong Attention to details and ability- to identify important information that others might miss. Ability due professional care through diligence, judgement and maintaining confidentiality

- Manage migration projects and work according to project timelines to ensure internal stakeholders' expectations
- Partner with the project team in managing resources required and apply necessary changes to organizational design and span of control as needed

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS) :
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance & Accounting, with prior experience of working in a global finance operations setup
- 12+ years of relevant experience in Finance processes with focus on expense to pay domain, and a good understanding of finance operations setup, delivery and process transformation
- Prior experience in a T&E processes and system solutions like Concur, Chromeriver and Analytics solutions preferred
- Able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment and to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly to enhance the business and in keeping with BCG's values and culture
- Demonstrated experience within a high volume business at operational level
- Proven ability to lead teams through process improvements and implementation of standardized processes throughout large organizations
