Key skills for the job
Job Description:
1. Develop detailed track alignment designs using design tools (Bentley Rail Track, Civil 3D, Auto CAD etc.)
2. Perform horizontal and vertical alignment calculations and analyses. Proficient with Yard Layout Design & Geometric regression analysis
3. Evaluate and optimize alignments for operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
4. Coordinate with geotechnical, civil and structural engineers to integrate alignment designs with overall project requirements.
5. Resilient to coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work under pressure and lead the team.
6. Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and documentation for alignment planning and validation.
7. Ensure compliance with Indian Railways Standards, Metro Rail Guidelines, and relevant international Standards.
8. Engage with government bodies, Consultants, and Contractors to obtain necessary approvals and clearances.
9. Facilitate meetings with Stakeholders to discuss alignment plans, issues and progress.
10. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards related to alignment work.
11. Monitor and evaluate the performance of rail alignments to recommend improvements.
12. Identify opportunities for innovation in alignment design and execution to enhance project outcomes.
Skills Required:
1. Proficiency in alignment design tools (Bentley Rail Track, Civil 3D, Auto CAD etc.).
2. Strong Understanding of railway engineering principles and standards.
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work effectively in team oriented, collaborative environment.
5. Strong Communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
6. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field. A Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering is preferred.
Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in railway or metro alignment engineering, with proven expertise in track design and analysis.
Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is desirable.
