Job Description

Join us as a Technical Designer - Clearing Hub at Barclays, where youll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. Youll harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionise our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. To be successful as a Software Engineer you should have experience with :

Strong expertise in working in micro-service architecture design/development for enterprise scale applications.
Should be able to peer review design and code.
Ability to explore new age technology improvement / automation.
Candidate should agree to support for L3 which is part of role responsibilities.
Strong Technical knowledge :
- Java/J2EE
- Oracle/SQL
- Spring Framework, Springboot
- Apache Camel
- Active MQ
- Understanding of different network and connectivity technologies and standards : i. e. REST, Queues, Batch File.
- PL/SQL - Good to have
- ELK/ Any other monitoring tool- Good to have

Some other highly valued skills may include :

Understanding of Containers/Kubernetes knowledge, Observability solutions, GitLab,Artemis
Experience of Cloud Technologies e. g. AWS.
Application support and maintenance experience
Key Technical Real World experience of :
Redhat/Openshift. V3
Delivery and Continuous Improvement of a true Micro-Service system.
Good to have knowledge of Devops activity / Jenkins.

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
