Job Description

Join us as a Delivery Lead at Barclays, where youll take part in the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. Youll harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionise our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. As a part of the team, you will deliver technology stack, using strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand the business requirements and deliver quality solutions. Youll be working on complex technical problems that will involve detailed analytical skills and analysis. This will be done in conjunction with fellow engineers, business analysts and business stakeholders.

To be successful as a Delivery Lead you should have experience with:

  • Strong knowledge of Angular 10, 11 or 12
  • Good understanding of RESTful API
  • Experience of working on cross browser developments
  • Knowledge on testing (Mocha, Karma etc), app optimisations and best practices
  • Strong logical reasoning, problem solving and performance tuning skills
  • Experience of participating as a member of an Agile development team
  • Strong understanding of OO Designing and Programming Techniques and associated concepts, Data Modelling, Design Patterns
  • Strong understanding of TDD with extensive experience of automated unit testing (e. g. JUnit) using mock object frameworks
  • Knowledge of tools like Chef, SonarQube, Jenkins, Jprofiler, Maven, Gradle etc.
  • Knowledge of Cloud concepts, DevOps and CI/CD

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • BE, MCA or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Single SPA framework
  • Knowledge of responsive layouts
  • Experience of working on micro front ends
  • Experience of using test automation tools (e. g. Selenium)
  • Experience of using the Git source code control system
  • Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience of developing software for multiple Operating Systems (e. g. Linux, Windows)
  • Experience of software development within the Payment Industry

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role is based in Chennai.

Purpose of the role

To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
  • Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
  • Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
  • Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
  • Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc). to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. Complex information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
