As part of AIS, the India-based Center of Excellence (COE) specializes in delivering Generative AI (Gen AI) and advanced engineering solutions for our clients globally. Located in Bengaluru, with some presence in New Delhi, the COE will also lead the charge on building solution accelerators for our clients.

WHAT YOU LL DO

As Associate Director, AIS Software Engineering, you will lead the development and application of technical solutions to address complex problems in various industries. You will guide a diverse engineering team through the entire engineering life cycle while collaborating with remote and distributed teams, including both technical and consulting teams across the globe. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, optimizing, and deploying cutting-edge software engineering solutions and infrastructure at the production scale required by the world s largest companies.

• Collaborate closely with colleagues in the AIS COE (e.g., data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, platform engineers) to build software solutions to solve client s business problems
• Overall technical leader with deep expertise in software engineering, distributed systems, AI and application architecture design driving development and delivery of end-to-end solutions for client cases (from solution architecture to hands-on development work)
• Lead key parts of the software development life cycle, including architecture design, writing clean code, conducting code reviews, writing documentation, unit/integration tests, identifying issues and resolutions
• Collaborate on (or lead) the development of re-usable common frameworks, models, and components that can be highly leveraged to address common software engineering problems across industries and business functions
• Work with the team and other senior leaders to create a great working environment that attracts other great engineers
• Drive best demonstrated practices in software engineering, and share learnings with team members in AIS about theoretical and technical developments in software engineering
• Drive industry-leading innovations that translate into great impact for our clients in casework
• Act as PD Advisor as needed
• Participate in recruiting and onboarding for other team members
• Travel Requirement: Minimum, based on project needs and training opportunities

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelors/Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is a plus
• Relevant professional hands-on experience in web development, programming languages, version control, software design pattern, infrastructure and deployment, integration and unit testing implementation Lead
• Commercial acumen and understanding of business models
• 8+ years minimum experience
• 3 years minimum managing software engineers
• Track record of leading a team and collaborating on strategic initiatives
• Experience in shipping production, applications and software analytics products
• Expert knowledge (5+ years) of Python
• Deep experience with additional server-side frameworks and technologies such as FastAPI, Node.js, Flask.
• Experience with any one or more Cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Strong computer science fundaments in software structures, algorithms, automated testing, object-oriented programming, performance complexity, and implications of computer architecture on software performance
• Experience with software architecture, DB design, scalability, and SQL
• Experience with RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQLs databases (e.g.. MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch)
• Experience working with client-side technologies such as React, Vue.js, HTML and CSS
• Experience working in accordance with DevSecOps principles, and familiarity with industry deployment best practices using CI/CD tools, MLOps, LLMOps and infrastructure as code (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform)
• Understanding of software security and privacy regulations, key topics in cybersecurity, authentication and authorization mechanisms (including cloud IAM)Experience working according to agile principles
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain and discuss technicalities of solutions, algorithms and techniques with colleagues and clients from other disciplines
• Curiosity, proactivity and critical thinking
• Ability to collaborate with people at all levels and with multi-office/region teams
• Ability to work independently and juggle priorities to thrive in a fast paced and ambiguous environment, while also collaborating as part of a team in complex situations
