As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and market penetration within your assigned territory, ensuring achievement of sales targets across various retail channels while upholding the company's commitment products.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve assigned sales targets for your territory, covering key retail channels like pharmacies, supermarkets, and general trade outlets.
- Manage and motivate a team of sales representatives to maximize their performance and achieve individual sales goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify training needs for your team.
- Build strong relationships with key customers, including wholesalers, distributors, and retailers, to foster long-term partnerships and loyalty.
Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify growth opportunities, competitor insights, and emerging trends within your territory.
- Develop and implement targeted sales strategies to effectively address market needs and capitalize on opportunities.
- Monitor market share and competitor activity to make necessary adjustments to sales plans.
Distribution Network Management:
- Ensure efficient distribution network management by optimizing stock levels, monitoring product availability, and managing logistics across your territory.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of products to retailers.
- Identify and address any distribution challenges or gaps in coverage.
Brand Building and Promotion:
- Execute marketing initiatives at the retail level, including in-store displays, promotions, and consumer engagement activities, to enhance brand visibility and drive sales.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement brand communication strategies aligned with overall company objectives.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Regularly monitor sales performance against targets, analyze sales data, and generate comprehensive reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Share key insights with the sales leadership team to inform strategic decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success in FMCG sales, preferably in the FMCG industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in developing and motivating sales teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and stakeholders.
- Analytical skills to interpret market data and develop effective sales strategies.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM tools.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration + MBA/PG Diploma in marketing, or a related field.
