Senior Manager - EXIM & Logistics

Role & responsibilities :

Operational Efficiency:

• Timely Shipments: Ensure on-time dispatch and receipt of goods for both exports and imports, through streamlined supply chain processes to reduce transit times and improve service levels.
• Warehouse Utilization: Maximize space and resource utilization within warehouses. (Should this be included)

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to international trade laws, customs regulations, and local government requirements.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify and address potential risks in shipping routes, supplier networks, and geopolitical factors

Cost Management:

• Budget Adherence: Maintain costs within budgetary limits for logistics and EXIM operations.
• Freight Optimization: Negotiate competitive rates with shipping, freight, and transportation providers.
• Duty and Tax Optimization: Strategize to minimize duty, tax liabilities, and other trade-related expenses legally

Strategic Planning and Process Improvement:

• Logistics Strategy: Develop long-term strategies for efficient transportation and storage solutions.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Implement eco-friendly practices in packaging, transportation, and warehousing

Stakeholder Coordination:

• Vendor and Supplier Relationships: Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics partners.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with procurement, production, and sales teams to align logistics with business needs.
• Customer Satisfaction: Ensure delivery commitments are met, maintaining a high level of service quality.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:

• KPIs Monitoring: Track metrics such as lead time, transportation costs, customs clearance time, and inventory turnover.
• Regular Reporting: Provide periodic updates to senior management on operational performance, cost savings, and compliance issues.

Team Development and Leadership:

• Resource Planning: Ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation for smooth operations.
• Skill development & Performance Management: Train & develop the team, Set goals, provide feedback, and evaluate team performance.

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidate with 12 - 18 years of experience in Logistics & EXIM in Manufacturing Industry, specially handling SEZ logistic operations is preferable.
