This position develops and directs navigational and technical learning. The Superintendent, Training- Nautical develops company-wide strategic training initiatives, including competence development.
Job Responsibilities:
Delivers effective induction programs, pre-joining orientation, briefing, and in-house courses.
Conducts Vessel Handling Courses on the Bridge Simulators.
Manages and delivers navigational, training for officers ratings and support to comply with legislation and agreed customer requirements, leads and monitors the company s seafarer related Competence Management System.
Serves for navigational competence development for all seafarers. Works closely with management to identify learning opportunities and develop appropriate training content to support company growth initiatives.
Oversees curriculum design, learning tools, and needs analysis/gap management, follow-up evaluations, and resulting curriculum improvements and deliverables.
Monitors changes in statutory and regulatory training requirements to forecast training needs and ensure appropriate measures are implemented.
Researches cost-effective training solutions and creates training guidelines for new technologies, navigational, cargo, and planned maintenance software programs.
Provides regular status reports based on statistics, metrics, ROI, and project and development results.
Performs other duties and tasks as required.
Requirements:
Master Marine 2 Years experience in command.
Container shipping experience.
Minimum two years experience in the field of marine related training, including training design and development. Preferred with Bridge Simulator experience.
Train the trainer course or similar course.
Thorough knowledge of good operating practices, MARPOL, SMS, ISPS, PMS.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent presentation skills.
Additional/Desired Qualifications:
Certified lead auditor for ISO standards.
Risk management, incident investigation and root cause analysis course.
